Her writing can almost be comic considering how subversive she is--the moment she talks of how she wants to learn to read, she has to back that up with religious fervour! She moment she's critical of what is expected of her/women, she talks of the 'wondrous' ways of God.  ::) Clever textual strategy! Any thoughts?
